Wintery wonderland
Firstly I would like to apologise for my lack of concordance with the blogging world, I'm very sorry. Whilst I haven't entirely been depleted of the internet, I have been trying to focus on study catch up.
Earlier in the winter season, I decided to pack the old toboggen and hit the slopes for a few days!
It was the most magnificant weather, despite the lack of snow...
It was just so remarkable seeing the mountains surrounding you, with the smell of crisp, fresh air! It made me realise how much I missed hot steamy chips and mulled wine!
Other than the snow trip, back home, winter has meant early nights, cold starts, hot water bottles, hot tea and copious layers of wool!- home comfort!
Not many weeks left of winter now... and then we start to hear the birdies chirping and the sun welcoming the day!
However now, it is a time to catch up on my studies, plan dates with friends and soak up the last memories of winter 2010.

Anti who....Antioxidants
I came across a document, titled 'Apple review 2009', written by Karen Kinghman.
It is a study that has looked at all the reviews of eating 'an apple a day'. According to the evidence, it suggests that this power fruit can decrease the risk of obtaining breast, lung and colon cancer. Not only can it reduce cancer, but it has been shown to reduce cardiovascular disease (which is our number one death sentence in Australia). An apple can even prevent asthma... and if your mum ate apples whilst she was pregnant, you too have a lesser chance of been diagnosed with asthma.
Apples have been shown to reduce the risk of diabetes and aiding weight loss, this is due to the low glycaemic index of the fruit.. and people are less likely to over indulge on a meal, as the energy is dispersed more evenly.
Now coming into the wintery months, we need to make sure we keep ourselves healthy and our immune system strong. Apples have been shown to improve immune function and fight out the common flu.
Well there you have it bloggers! All these benefits in just an apple a day!
How many of you, would say that you have an apple a day?
According to this document, only 43% of Australians eat 1 apple a week... we really need to get this information out there, so many of these potential health problems can be reduced.
Well my apple is finished now. And I guess it is a sign for me to get on with some other work..
Take care

The last of the Autumn sun
My Collectivities
It has been over a year, and i've been working on my wall. Not my facebook wall (well that as well), but a plain, whitle old wall in my house. It has now become a wall dedicated to little things I collect and am inspired to. It has become a bit of a timeline for me. I have bits of newspaper clippings, postcards, leaves (from last autumn), advertisments, lolly wrappers, matchsticks, cut out hearts (Taylor swift concert), drink coasters and a fair bit more.
I am one of those people, who collect such odd, but wonderful bits and pieces.
(I must say I have a collection of film tickets from 4 years back -see above).
Does anybody else collect strange things? Or have a journal where they stick things in?
I have a friend, who buys a journal every year, she carries it everywhere with her. It is her emotional and creative outlet. She pastes all sorts of events that she attends, to bits of sand or rock that she found interesting.
I'm am glad that i'm not the only one to find such joy in these pieces.
Love to all facets of life.
